The clutch developed a noise, so a new Sachs clutch was fitted…..eventually. I took the car to my local Porsche specialist. He dropped the engine and gear box out of the car, then the new clutch was ordered. Unfortunately, Euro Car Parts were out of stock, so the local Porsche dealer was contacted. They were also out of stock – they checked the Porsche network in the UK, but no one had one and the factory in Germany was closed for the summer break.
After a lot of searching I found one for sale, but it was in California. After a few emails and payment, the clutch was sent via UPS, it arrived four days later and was duly fitted. I suppose a lesson learned, check one is available before starting.
